Becoming a parish councillor is one of the most rewarding ways to make a real difference in Farmborough. Parish councils sit at the heart of local decision-making and play a vital role in protecting what makes our village special while helping it grow and thrive. If you’ve ever wanted to influence local projects, support community life, or ensure the village continues to flourish, this is your opportunity.
Recent achievements show what motivated residents can accomplish. The Parish Council has completed significant improvements to the Pavilion at The Rec, transforming it into a more welcoming and useful space for sports clubs, families, and village events. This upgraded facility stands as a proud example of how practical action can strengthen community life.
We’ve also opened a new and thriving youth club for ages 11–19—providing a safe, fun, and supportive environment for young people. Its popularity reflects the genuine need for such a space and highlights the council’s commitment to investing in the next generation.
Across Farmborough, we continue to support local groups that bring neighbours together, enrich the village, and maintain the strong community spirit we’re known for. Whether it’s helping organisers of events or supporting volunteer-led clubs, councillors play an important part in enabling these groups to succeed.
Our ongoing work to keep Farmborough clean and tidy—through maintaining green spaces, improving footpaths, and addressing everyday environmental issues—is another essential part of parish life. These small but impactful actions help ensure the village remains a place we are all proud to call home.
To keep moving forward, we need residents who care about their community and want to make a difference. You don’t need special qualifications—just enthusiasm, commitment, and a desire to help shape Farmborough’s future.
